Christ Leads The Way

“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 3:20

Hi everyone! I hope that you are doing well. Thank you for continuing to read and show your love and support. I am so grateful for you. And as always, I appreciate you!!

We, in America, live in a great country. We have lots of luxuries and freedoms that some might take for granted until they travel elsewhere. Despite the political turmoil and uproar that we see in our nation, we truly are blessed.

But as blessed as we are to be Americans, nothing compares to being citizens of God’s kingdom. Christians do not focus on earthly things. It doesn’t matter whether one has political affiliation with one party or another for Christians. Our true allegiance is to Christ. We put Him first and foremost.

The apostle Paul said it best in Philippians 3 verse 20. “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” We are citizens of heaven.

While the country is divided over the need to wear masks, racial injustices, and politics, Christians are united in the cause of Christ with our one goal to make it home to that heavenly city. We don’t become embroiled with the hottest topics of the day. We stand fast in our faith and hope for something much better to come.

There are many spiritual blessings that we’re afforded as citizens of God’s kingdom. Salvation is one of them. Do you have dual citizenship? Have you done what it takes to be a citizen of heaven? Just like with an earthly country, there are steps to take to become a citizen of God’s spiritual city.

All you have to do is obey Christ: believe that He is Lord (John 8:24); confess His name (Romans 10:9-10); repent of your sins (Luke 13:3); be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins (Mark 16:16), and; live faithfully until death (Revelation 2:10). Then you can rightly claim citizenship of heaven.

Christians must remember, we are not citizens of this world; we’re simply passing through it. Our true citizenship is in heaven. So we act like it.
