Embrace Renewal: Start Anew This Year

“If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” – Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭21‬-‭24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Happy New Year, friends!!! I hope that you enjoyed the holiday season with family and friends. I’m so thankful to God for a new day and a new year. And I’m so thankful for you. As always, I appreciate you!!

Entering a new year brings all kinds of possibilities. There’s the possibility of growth, of new hopes, and newness of life. You may be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn’t like new things. New is fresh. New is clean. New is invigorating.

As we reflect on the year past and ponder over the prospects of things to come in the new one, may we all focus our hearts and minds on the One who makes it all possible.

My prayer is that you “be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:23-24).

Putting on a new man or woman is not about losing weight. It’s not about getting a new job or changing up your wardrobe. Becoming new is about being the person that God created you to be – His child. The Lord Jesus made it possible for all of us to be a part of the family of God when He died on the cross and rose from the dead.

You can be a new person in this new year if you come to Jesus in full obedience. All you have to do is believe that Jesus is Lord, confess it, repent of your sins and wrongdoing, and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins. If you have any questions about doing any of those things, please reach out to me and we can discuss them. My desire is for all people to love and serve God and one another through His Son Jesus. So, I’m happy to converse with you.

Won’t you be new this new year? Leave the old things behind that are of no benefit to you. And let’s go with God.
