“A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.” – Proverbs 17:17

Hi, friends! I hope that you are well. I’m so grateful for your show of love and support in reading my blog. As always, I appreciate you!
There are some people who would give you the shirts off their back if the situation called for it. And there are some people for whom you would do the same. There’s nothing like the bond of friendship. Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13). When there’s someone who will put their life on the line for you, that’s love. It means inconveniencing themselves for your sake. It also means literally putting their life at risk for your own.
A friend who is also a brother or sister is born for hard times and will love you through them. Sure, we’re all human and make mistakes. Not one of us is perfect. But the friend I’m talking about remains such throughout the test of time. Most of us have had friends with whom we’ve had disagreements, arguments, or even full blown fights. But a true friendship will withstand challenges and even broken confidences.
Jesus laid down His life for you and me. “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1 John 3:16).
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). While we were not in His good graces, Christ still gave His life for us.
I don’t know anyone else who’s put their life on the line for me like he has. He isn’t like everyone else. And for that, I am grateful.
I will forever be a friend to my God, my Savior, and my king.
Will you be a friend to Jesus?
