Hi, friends! I hope that you are well. Thank you so much for all the love, all the support, and all the kindness you have shown toward me in this blog. Many of you I have never meet and probably won’t have the opportuinity to do so on this side of glory. I cannot adequately express the gratitude I feel. But I will try. Our values are what shape us. They determine the way we think, the things we say, and, ultimately, the things we do. I value what the Lord values, and one of those things is loyalty. God is loyal – faithful – in all things. He demonstrates it toward us daily. And He expects, commands, and even honors those who are loyal to Him.
King Solomon understood this truth, with all the wisdom the Lord had granted him. That’s why He proclaimed to all of Israel at the dedication of the temple, “Let your heart therefore be loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day” (1 Kings 8:61).
What’s in our hearts will govern our actions. So, as Solomon admonished the Israeleites, we also must be loyal in our hearts to the Lord our God. This means when the world and people are pulling at us to forsake our principles, our hope in Jesus – our Lord, then we remain resolutely firm in our commitment to Him. And we are willing to say, “I choose Jesus every single time.”
Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). That’s all that Christ requires of us – our obedience.
You can know Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. And you can experience all the blessings that are in Christ – forgiveness, hope, love, joy, peace, and salvation. All these are yours if you will believe that Jesus is Lord, confess that He is, repent of your sins, and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins. Will you choose to follow Jesus – and do it with a loyal heart?
Today, choose Jesus. Tomorrow, choose Jesus again.
May our hearts be loyal to the Lord our God.
