“Is anything too hard for the Lord?…” – Genesis 18:14
Hello, readers! I hope that you are well. Thank you for reading and showing me your support. I appreciate you!!
I’ve been thinking about this question from Genesis chapter 18: Is anything too hard for the Lord?
God had promised Abraham and Sarah that they would bear a son. Abraham was 99 years old when he received the promise from God; Sarah was 90 (Genesis 17:1,17). So you can imagine their disbelief. They were both well-advanced in age to be having children.
When Sarah heard the news that she would have a child, she laughed. The Lord’s response to Abraham was, “Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son” (Genesis 18:14).
God asked Abraham if anything was too hard for Him to accomplish. I believe that He’s asking us that same question today. When we face seemingly insurmountable obstacles, God is asking, “Is anything too hard for Me?”
No matter what it is we’re going through, nothing is too hard for the Lord – not sickness, not financial hardships, not the death of a loved one, not job loss, and not divorce. Nothing!
So when challenging circumstances arise in my life, I will ask myself the question, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
It wasn’t too hard for Him to allow Sarah to give birth in her old age. It wasn’t too hard for Christ to endure the cross of Calvary. And it isn’t too hard for Him to bring you and me out of our troubles.
There is absolutely nothing too hard for the Lord.
