Hope in the Lord

“Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” – Psalm 31:24

Hey friends! I hope that you and your family are staying well. Thank you for continuing to read. I appreciate you!!!

There’s something about hope that just keeps you going when you want to give up – that expectation of better things to come. And Christians have hope during these times and all times, because we put our trust in the Lord.

The Bible says that “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord” (Jeremiah 17:7). God blesses us when we rely solely on Him. And many times, that’s all we can do is turn our problems over to the Lord.

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” – Psalm 43:5

That hope that we have allows us to praise God in the midst of trying circumstances. God is God when good things happen, and He is still God when bad things happen. So we continually praise the Lord of heaven (Psalm 71:14).

We have hope that is an anchor of the soul, and it is both steadfast and sure (Hebrews 6:19). We have hope in the Word of God (Psalm 119:81). We have hope of eternal life (Col. 1:5). We have hope of the resurrection (1 Pet. 1:3). And we have hope that is living. As a result, we can be glad and rejoice in hope (Rom. 12:12).

“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” – 1 Peter 1:13

Though situations may seem dismal with no silver lining, Christians can be joyful knowing the hope that is in us. Our hope is not just for the hereafter in heaven, but it’s for here on earth, as well.

Do you have hope? True hope that doesn’t disappoint can only be found in Jesus Christ. You can have that sure, steadfast hope if you will obey Him in belief (John 8:24), in repentance (Luke 13:3), in confession (Matthew 10:32-33), and in baptism (Mark 16:16). Won’t you choose to serve Christ today?

Put your hope in the Lord.

  1. What an awesome God we serve because that word “hope” has been on my heart this week. Even yesterday as I was working with the little children, the assigned activity for them to color said Anchor. It was in that moment that I was reminded of the word hope again. As believers, we have hope in Christ 🙏🏿. This hope that never fails us and is so sure till the very end. I choose to put my hope in Christ alone. Thank you for sharing 🤗
