“For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!” – 1 Corinthians 9:16

Hi, friends! I hope that you are well. Thank you, once again, for all the love and support you have shown me thus far in my writing journey. Your comments, words of encouragement, and simply being you, a reader, all mean so very much to me. As always, I appreciate you!!!
It is not lost on me that many of my readers know Jesus personally. But I am also aware that sometimes people who are not saved are searching for answers and stumble upon these writings. So, I want to make clear to anyone reading: Jesus Christ is Lord and the Savior of the world.
I understand what the apostle Paul meant when he wrote, “Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16). I have been entrusted with the honor, the privilege, and the duty to share the gospel with others (Matthew 28:19-20). And I am so very grateful to God. And I’m thankful for His word, the Bible. God’s word is truth. And the truth reveals to us all who Jesus is.
Jesus Christ was born on this earth through a miraculous birth (Luke 1:30-37). He lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15). He died a cruel death on the cross for your sins and mine because He loves us so much (1 Corinthians 15:2-4; John 3:16). He was buried and He rose again to newness of life (Acts 4:10). That’s the gospel of Jesus Christ.
And because He rose from the grave, we too can die to sin and unrighteous living and rise to newness of life in Christ.
“Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:3-4).
Do you know Jesus? Have you obeyed Him? The Bible says, “And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him” (Hebrews 5:9). You can’t have the salvation from sins that Christ offers without obeying Him. Well, how does one obey? It’s simple.
How to Obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Order to Be Saved:
- Jesus said, “Therefore I say to you, unless you believe that I am He, you will surely die in your sins” (John 8:24). You must believe, for it is essential!
- Jesus declared, “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32). You must proclaim that Jesus is Lord!
- Jesus implores us all: “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3). You must earnestly repent of your sins!
- Lastly, Jesus proclaimed, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:16). You must be baptized!
This is the gospel of Jesus Christ the Lord. His salvation is for all. You can live a life freee from sin. You can live an abundant life in Christ. You can become a member of the family of God. And you can have a home in heaven with the Lord. All you have to do is obey the gospel. Will you choose to obey Him? I hope and pray that you will.
If you haven’t obeyed the gospel of Christ, what’s holding you back from doing so? And if you have already obeyed, what was the turning point for you to obey? Share your thoughts in the comments. I look forward to reading them.
