One Lord, One Faith, One Church

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all..– Ephesians 4:4-6

Hi, everyone! I hope that you are well! Thank you so much to all of you who continue to show love and support of me and my blog. I appreciate you!!!

As we approach the time of year when millions celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, it’s important to remember why Jesus died. Ephesians 5:25 says that Christ loved the church “and gave Himself for her.” Christ died for the church – the church that He built (Matthew 16:18).

While there are many sects within Christendom – Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, Pentecostal, and many others – there’s only one church. Notice Ephesians 4:4: “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling.” Colossians 1:24 clarifies that the church is Christ’s body.

There is only one Lord – Jesus Christ. There is one faith – the Christian faith. And there is only one baptism – immersion in water for the forgiveness of sins. See Ephesians 4:5. Are you serving the one Lord? Do you hold to the one faith? Have you been baptized with the one baptism?

“Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?” (Hebrews 10:28-29).

I hope that you won’t reject Christ and trample upon Him by not believing and obeying Him. You can turn to the Lord today! Believe that Jesus is Lord. Confess that He is Lord of all. Repent of your sins. Be baptized with the one baptism. This baptism puts you in contact with the blood of Jesus. It is for the forgiveness of your sins. Then, Jesus Christ will add you to His church – the one body that He gave Himself for.

Will you become a part of the oneness that is found in Christ?

It is claimed Gandhi said, “I like your Christ, but not your Christianity.” However, Gandhi did not recognize the real Christ or he would have followed Him and not Christians.

One day, every knee will bow before Jesus Christ and every tongue will confes that He is Lord. May we all strive to be able to say, like Paul did: “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). Thanks so much for your comment.
