Jesus Knocks

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” – Revelation 3:20

Hey friends! Thank you so much for continuing to read and show your love and support. I appreciate you doing so, and I appreciate you!!!

God doesn’t force Himself on anyone. He’s a gentleman, if you will. That’s one of the things I love about Him – He gives us a choice to choose Him and righteous living or the opposite. Sadly, many choose Satan and sin over Christ. Any choice but Christ is a choice for unrighteousness and it is the wrong choice.

An example of God’s gentleman-like nature is demonstrated in the account of the demon-possessed man in the book of Mark. After Jesus drove the demons out of the man and into a herd of swine, the people pleaded with Jesus to leave their region (Mark 5:17). They disregarded the miracle that Jesus had just done for the man who had been demon-possessed. They didn’t care that Jesus could heal the sick or raise the dead. They wanted Him gone. Jesus honored their request. He crossed over to the other side by boat where a large crowd gathered around Him (Mark 5:21).

Jesus wasn’t going to run up behind the people trying to show them that He was the Son of God. He already knew who He was and didn’t need praises or acknowledgement from people. When they asked Him to leave, He left. And He went to where people were who knew they were in need of His saving grace.

And the Lord is the same with us today. He will not force His way into our hearts. He stands at the door and knocks, waiting for us to open the door (Revelation 3:20). He doesn’t barge His way into our lives. He gives us the opportunity to choose Him, but if we deny Him that chance to be Lord of our lives, then we have chosen eternal death.

Will you choose the Lord today? Don’t plead with Him to depart from you by your sinful actions. Turn from living a sinful life and serve the living Savior Jesus Christ. All you have to do is obey Him: believe that He is Lord, confess Him to others, stop living a life of sin and repent, and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins.

We will all have to give an answer at the door one day because the Judge stands at the door (James 5:9). And whether our answer to His knock is to leave the door of our hearts shut or open the door for Him to come in determines where we will spend eternity.

Where will you spend eternity? Open up the door of your heart to Jesus Christ.

“Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!” – James 5:9
