“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” – John 13:34
Happy New Year, friends! I hope that this year has a lot of good in store for you. Thank you for continuing to go on this journey with me as we strive to love, honor, and respect each other as a people. It’s Christ who leads the way. I appreciate you and your show of support. It reminds me daily that there is still good left in the world. And for that I say thank you!
As we start off the new year, let’s do it with a new commandment from God. Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another” (Jn. 13:34). Jesus loved us so much that He laid down His life for us that we might have eternal life.
Jesus also said, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (Jn. 15:13). We must be willing to lay aside our lives for others. That may be difficult to do when so much is pressing, but Jesus did it and so can we. May we go into this year with a mindset to love one another.
Let’s be a lot more patient with one another. Let’s be a lot more kind to each other. Let’s be a lot more supportive and affectionate. Let’s be a lot more selfless, a lot more forgiving, and a lot more humble. And let’s be a lot more encouraging.
Let’s have a lot of more love for one another.
“By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” – Jn. 13:35
