“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:8-10).

Hi, friends! I hope that all is well with you. Thank you so much for reading and showing your support. I appreciate you!
Most of us were taught right versus wrong. When we were kids, our parents gave us direction as to what they wanted us to do and what was acceptable behavior. In the same vein, God our Father has given us direction so that we can be pleasing to Him.
We’re instructed to walk as children of light and to find out what is acceptable to the Lord (Ephesians 5:8,10). God wants us to search out those things that will be pleasing to him. That means we have to study His Word.
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15, KJV
We present ourselves approved by God when we study the Bible. The “righteous studies how to answer” (Proverbs 15:28). As children of God, we study so that we will have an answer before God.
It’s just like taking a test, except life is the test. No one likes to go into a test unprepared. And if we want to be prepared for this life and the next, we will study to find out what is acceptable to the Lord.
The Bereans did it – they searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether the things they were being taught were true. And the Bible calls them fair-minded for it.
And regarding the salvation that the Lord offers, the prophets inquired about it and searched carefully for it (1 Peter 1:10).
We can be like the righteous who study to give an answer; like the Bereans who searched the Scriptures daily, and; like the prophets who inquired and searched carefully. It’s the only way we can do as the Lord commands and find out what is acceptable to Him.
Will you find out what is acceptable to the Lord? Let’s walk as children of light today.
