“whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” – James 4:14
Hi, friends! Thank you so much for reading and following my blog. I appreciate you!
Life is fleeting. We’re here today, and gone tomorrow. So we must make the most of it while we have the time. The bible says that our lives are but vapors (James 4:14). A vapor comes and disappears quickly. If you don’t look closely enough, you’ll miss it. And if we don’t pay close enough attention to what’s important in life, we’ll miss out on that, too.
We don’t know what tomorrow or even today may bring. King Solomon put it this way: “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth” (Proverbs 27:1).
We must live our best lives today and stop depending on tomorrow. Tomorrow may never get here. You’ve probably put off some things until “tomorrow” before. We have to be careful with that. Tomorrow might be too late. So, no more “I’m going to start my diet tomorrow,” or “I’ll start exercising…tomorrow,” or “I’ll think about forgiving her later on some other time but not now.” Today is the day. Now is the time.
And ever more than anything, now is the time to give your life to Christ if you haven’t. You can do so by believing that Jesus is the Son of God, by repenting of your sins, by confessing the name of Jesus before others, and by being baptized for the forgiveness of your sins. Then whether or not tomorrow comes for you, you’ll be ready for a home in heaven with the Lord.
Yes, life passes us by so fast. But that doesn’t have to be a dismal and dark truth. In Christ there is hope for a new day. Do you have that hope? I pray that you do.
May God bless you and keep you, . May He cause His face to shine upon you.
