The Ungodly Will Perish

“Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.” – Psalm 1:5black cross on top of mountain

Hey friends! Thank you so much for reading and showing me love. I love you back! And I appreciate all that you do in support of me. From my heart to yours, much love and many THANKS!

The Bible has a lot to say about ungodly people. It’s unfortunate, but there are many of them. Jesus acknowledged that wide is the gate that leads to destruction and many go in by it (Matt. 7:13).

The ungodly forget God. But, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” (Psa. 9:17). They ignore God. “Because they do not regard the works of the Lord, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them and not build them up” (Psa. 28:5). They despise God (Prov. 14:2).

The ungodly are devoid of understanding (Rom. 1:21-22). Their understanding is darkened and they are alienated from God because of ignorance and the blindness of their hearts (Eph. 4:18). They are haters of God, “and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face” (Dt. 7:10). The ungodly are also enemies of God (Col. 1:21). Whoever makes himself a friend of the world is an enemy of God (Jas. 4:4).

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Heb. 10:31). I wouldn’t want to be an enemy of God or any of the things that characterize the ungodly. The heavens and the earth “are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men” (2 Pt. 3:7). That’s bad news for the ungodly.

But there is also good news. Christ died for the ungodly (Rom. 5:6)! The ungodly have the chance to repent of forgetting, ignoring, being at enmity with, and hating God. Everyone has the chance to repent. Christs commands that all men everywhere repent (Acts 17:30). We all have the chance to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. We now have the chance to confess that Jesus is Lord. And we have the chance, right now, to be baptized for the forgiveness of our sins.

Don’t remain an enemy of God, if you are. Don’t stay blinded in your heart toward the Lord. The way of the ungodly will perish. Turn to the Lord today.

“For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.” -Psalm 1:6
