“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20
There are some hymns and some songs that just really take me to a place of worship, a place of humility, and a place of thankfulness. The one that I’d like to share with you today is one such hymn. It’s beautiful, as it tells the story of my beautiful Savior and just how I feel about him.
The song touches me on so many levels; it’s hard reading it without being brought to tears, let alone singing it.
I’m forever grateful for the great sacrifice that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ made at Calvary for me. The love, appreciation, and gratitude that I have is overwhelming to even think about.
You are the greatest love of my life. Thank You for loving me. And thank You for your great and humble sacrifice. You will forever be king of my heart.
I love You.
This:
How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasureHow great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to gloryBehold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffersIt was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finishedI will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrectionWhy should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransomWhy should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom.
