“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” – Joshua 1:8

Hi, everyone! I hope that you are well. I am so grateful for you and how you continue to support me and the message I share on my blog. As always, I appreciate you!!
Different Perspectives on Success
How do you define success? Succeeding in life means different things to many people. Some believe attaining flashy cars, big houses, and a lot of money is success. Others view success as building a family and sharing their love and lives with them. Still, some view success as the ability to do whatever makes them happy.
I’m not here to knock what anyone deems as successful. But I am going to tell you what true success is. Actually, I’ll just share what God said about it. His words reign supreme any day over mine, yours, or anyone else’s.
The Divine Formula for Success
God told Joshua, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8). And the message applies for us today.
True success comes in meditating on God’s word and doing all that He’s commanded. God says that is what will make your way prosperous and you successful.
Temporary Achievements vs. Eternal Impact
People have climbed Mount Everest. They’ve won medals, obtained degrees and awards, and reached significant milestones. But, in the big scheme of things, all those things are temporary and won’t really matter in the Day of Judgement.
What will matter is whether you lived with kindness and respect towards all people; whether you had compassion for others; whether you loved and did not hate; whether you were forgiving of others; and, most importantly, whether you obeyed God and did what was right in the sight of the Lord.
Doing those things, friends, is success.
Your Step Toward True Success
Have you obeyed the Lord Jesus Christ in believing that He is Lord, in confessing that He is, in repenting of your sins, and in being immersed in water baptism for the forgiveness of your sins?
If not, then, despite all the things in life you may have achieved, you are not successful. Not according to the Lord God, that is. But the good news is that you can be a success in the sight of the Lord. Obey Him today! Then you will have prosperity and have good success.
