God Sees The Heart

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” – Philippians 2:12

Hi! I hope that you are well! As always, to all who support me in reading my blog and sending your kind comments, I appreciate you!!

God is not like people. Isn’t that great? The Lord says in Isaiah 55:8-9, “’For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts’.” Humans are quick to make judgements that are not always in line with the way God thinks.

But the Bible says, “For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16: 7).

That’s why Jesus warned in Matthew 7:1-3, “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?”

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Thank God that He sees our hearts. And thank God for Christ Jesus the Lord.

    A good word, Terica!🤠
However, Matthew 7:1 is THE best known verse in the entire world, even among those who know absolutely nothing else about the Bible and who do not know where and when this was said. Yet they know Jesus said this! Unfortunately it is most often used to condemn those who are following the Bible’s precepts. While it is encouraging to those of us who read and study the Scriptures, it must be balanced by verse 6 shortly following, “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.”
And remember, He did not say to ignore the speck in the brother’s eye, but to not be hypocritical; once we have removed the log from our own eyes we “will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”😉
