“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6
Hey friends! I hope that you are well. Thanks for reading! I appreciate you!
Do you ever get down and discouraged and question your purpose in life? If you answered yes, then you’re not unlike most people. It’s human nature to experience negative emotions surrounding purposeful meaning in life. That’s especially so when life gets hard, when the bills pile high, when sickness comes, when loved ones pass away, and when we suffer persecution. We begin to question ourselves and what we are doing here on this earth.
But rest assured that when Christ has begun a good work in you, He will see it through to the finish (Philippians 1:6). So don’t grow weary in your well-doing. Keep on fighting, keep on pressing, and keep on pushing through to another day. God is not finished with you yet, so don’t give up. Your troubles – your discouragement – should not make you throw in the towel.
“And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3-4). Whatever you’re going through is set to make you a better person and build your character, so that you might have hope.
The hope that we have in Christ Jesus does not disappoint (Romans 5:5).
If you believe in Christ, you’re going to have trouble. “For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake” (Philippians 1:29). So, if you are down or discouraged about your lot in life, take courage. God is still working on you. Suffering is part of the journey. You have a purpose, you have meaning, and you have hope in Jesus Christ.
If you don’t have that hope, you can if you obey Christ in belief, repentance, and baptism.
Don’t lose sight of your goal – a heavenly home with Christ Jesus.
