“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” – Proverbs 17:17

I truly believe that we, as a people, will be better off if and when we show love to one another, when we build each other up, and when we honor one another.
It’s easy to take for granted our family. We see them every day or, at least for a good portion of our lives, we’ve lived with them every day at some point. So sometimes we can be remiss to say, “I love you,” or “I appreciate you.” Those things are good to hear and needed. Who doesn’t like to hear that they are loved and appreciated?
So today, on her birthday, I honor my sister Tonya. She’s my eldest sister, and I don’t know if there’s a harder working or more compassionate nurse than my sister. Her work ethic is one to be imitated.
Tonya is generous and is always giving of herself and her means to others. She loves God and she loves people. And she has proven herself to be a faithful and dutiful mother.
I’m thankful to the Lord for her. She’s always there for me when I need her – and when I don’t. And I’m so grateful that she has graced me and the world with my two nieces. I admire her strength, her dedication, her compassion for others, and her beauty.
She’s absolutely gorgeous. And I’m convinced that she can have any man that she wants. 🙂
She’s my family. She’s my sister. She’s my friend. And I hope to someday have the kind of benevolent and hospitable spirit that she has.
Keep shining bright, Sis. I love you. Happy Birthday.
“So then, we must pursue what promotes peace and what builds up one another.” – Romans 14:19
