“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” – Proverbs 17:17

There’s nothing like having a good friend. And there’s nothing like having a sister. It’s even more of a blessing to have a sister who’s your friend. I know that God doubly blessed me in that because my sister CeCe is also my friend.
The Bible says that a sibling is born for adversity and a friend loves at all times. Well, my sister and I have been through some difficult times together. It’s good when you don’t have to go through trying circumstances alone. And she’s loved me through the good and the bad.
From the times she comforted me as a child when I was afraid of the dark and wanted to sleep in her bed, to the time she showed me how (not) to drive in her red car as a teenager (she really knew how to bend a curve!), to the times as an adult when I needed a close confidante, she has always been there for me.
I’ve always looked up to my sister (even though she is shorter than I am). She’s funny, she’s caring, she’s honest, she’s the life of the party – everyone wants to be around her, and she’s authentically unique. And she’s an avid supporter of me and all that I do. I can’t imagine my world without her in it.
So today, I share with you my sister and my friend, and I honor her.
Happy Birthday, Sis. I love you.
