“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
The new study that I’m doing is off to a great start. Sometimes I feel like a babe in Christ still, drinking only the milk of the Word (1 Peter 2:2). But the study that I’ve begun on Authority is helping me to dig into the meat of it. I’m almost done with the first month’s study, and it is having a significant impact. Hopefully you will join me, too. You can find the study here: http://thecolleyhouse.org/digging-deep-2018-2019-launch.
The study is a part of the Digging Deep series that has a focus in helping every participant dig deeper into God’s Word and feast on the meat of It. It was developed by my dear friend Cindy Colley. She has been instrumental in my spiritual journey and growth in the Lord, and I am thankful to God for her and all the work that she does for God’s kingdom. If there’s anybody that I know who wants people to get to heaven and has dedicated their lives in that pursuit, it’s Cindy.
The study that she has created aims to help others grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the knowledge of His Word. It’s available as a free download on her website at the above-posted link. There are also instructions there for how to complete the study and participate in the study groups online.
Now the study is available in Spanish! A sister and brother in Christ have translated the first month of the study, so that women whose primary language is Spanish can become Diggers, also. I suspect that their work was labor intensive and probably tiresome. It’s not always so easy to translate into a language whose words have so many different meanings (run could refer to conduct, as in a meeting, or it could refer to a physical activity). So, I extend a sincere “Thank-You!” to them for all of their efforts in making it possible for more people to study God’s Word in this way. My Spanish is a little rusty (well, more like, a lot), and I translated wrong a few things that were in the English version when I read through the Spanish one and I got all confused. So, I’m just going to stick to the English version of the study (which is what I intended to do, anyway). All that translating takes a lot of thought and effort, and that was only the first couple of pages for me; they are translating the whole book! That’s impressive.
The Bible study’s ultimate goal is to point people to Jesus. I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I believe in it’s saving power. Nothing will ever change that (Romans 8:38-39; 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18). And that’s real. It’s genuine, however rudimentary it may be. If it wasn’t, I really just wouldn’t care about anything; I wouldn’t be where I am today. And God knows that. The Lord saved me from an eternal death (and I’m not going back) by the blood of His Son, and I know that He can save you, too. My sights are on heaven. And I trust in Him – that He will deliver, that He saves, and that He has my best interest (and yours) at heart. So, whether you’re sipping on milk or chewing on meat, let’s dig!
