Jesus saves. He has the power to save you. He saves us from sin. He saves us from death. He saves us from eternal damnation. That’s why He left heaven to come to earth and die a cruel death on the cross. He did it to save you. And He did it to save me.

The Lord loves us so much. Yes, He loves you. He knows us for exactly who we are – no masks, no filters, no embellishments. And He still loves us. That amazes me. Jesus Christ has offered us the gift of eternal life.

But just like any gift, we can’t just say that we’ll accept it. No, there’s no prayer that you can pray to accept the gift of eternal salvation. If you want to get a gift, you must approach the giver. You need to reach your hands out and take action to get the gift. You have been offered the gift of eternal life. You must take action. Do what the Lord has said to get the gift.

The Bible says we must believe that Jesus is Lord (John 8:24). We must change how we live. We need to stop living a life of sin. This change is called repentance (Luke 13:3). We must confess that Jesus is Lord (Matthew 10:32-33). And we must be baptized to be forgiven of our sins (Acts 2:38). Then we must live faithful lives in service to Christ (Revelation 2:10).

Jesus saves. Will you obey Him to accept His gift of salvation? I hope that you will.
