Are You Being Saved? Embracing Daily Salvation in Christ

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” – 1 Corinthians 1:18

Jesus Christ Saves

Hi, friends! I hope that you are well! I want to say thank you to each of you who follow and read my blog. Your support means so much to me! I appreciate you!!!

Some people do not agree, but once a person is saved they are not always saved. You can lose your salvation. Yes, there are the first things one must do. These are essential to be welcomed into the fold of God. You must access the blood of Jesus for forgiveness of sins. One must repent, believe that Jesus is Lord and confess such, and be immersed into a watery grave of baptism. But, salvation is a continual thing.

Notice 1 John 1:7: “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” The cleansing is continual. This is because not one of us is perfect. We continually sin and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

The apostle Paul puts it this way, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18). People who are not in Christ do not understand the message of Christ. But to those of us who are being saved, Christ’s message is the power of God. We don’t just get saved once. That’s not the end of our responsibility to live right or be obedient to God. No. He keeps saving us, every single day that we walk in the light of Jesus.

Paul uses the same language again in 2 Corinthians 2:15. He says, “For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.”

So, let’s not be fooled that once we do steps 1, 2, 3, etc. then we are set for eternal life in heaven. No, we must keep living for Jesus each and every day – walking in His light and being obedient to His word. Otherwise, we are perishing.

Are you being saved, or are you perishing?
