Christ Leads The Way

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).

I’m not sure about anyone else, but I am a queen – royalty!! This is because God says so – not because I desire to exalt myself above anyone else. And no matter who does or doesn’t recognize it, it’s still true!

Notice 1 Peter 2:9. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” God has declared that I am special (v.9), chosen by Him, and precious (1 Peter 2:4). The Creator of the universe loves me so much. And He loves you so much, too! He sent Jesus His Son to live on earth and pave a way for us to be part of His family. That’s love.

What the Lord says is what matters. It matters way more than what any human may think of me. After all, other people’s opinions of me are only icing on the cake. And I don’t need icing. I am the cake.

I hope that you who love the Lord are confident in this, too. Our worth comes from God – not people, not things, not our health, not money, and not anything temporary. But it truly comes from the Lord. And Christians – those who have obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ are royal, priests, holy, and God’s own special people.

Let’s walk in that truth today. Knowing that the Lord loves us and that we are His. Chosen by God. And precious.
