“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive […]” –Psalm 124:2-3

Hey friends! I hope that you and your families are doing well. Thank you for reading and showing your love and support to me. I pray God’s blessings upon you. And as always, I appreciate you! ❤
Friends, we’re living in some dark days. But even in the midst of everything that’s going on in this world and in our lives, we can still count our blessings. The Lord has blessed me more than I can ever even comprehend. Like David penned in the Psalms, if it had not been for the Lord who was on my side, I don’t know where I would be.
There were times in my life when I know I would be dead and gone if it wasn’t for the Lord. I remember when I had a car accident and ended up in a ditch with a totaled vehicle. I didn’t have even one scratch on me. If it had not been the Lord who was on my side…
I remember another time when I almost drowned in a pool at a water park. I could not swim, but as a kid, I followed behind the big kids and got on the big slide. I ended up going all the way down to the bottom of the pool until my cousin jumped in and saved me. If it had not been the Lord who was on my side…
Surely there are other times that I’m probably not even aware of when I could have been swallowed whole by the enemy and died. But the Lord was on my side. For some reason, He wanted me to stay here on this earth for a while – may be to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and bring Him glory.
Whatever the reason, I’m here. My soul has escaped as a bird. And I’m sure you could say the same thing, too: If it had not been the Lord who was on my side…
Thank God for His grace and His mercy that He bestows upon us.
“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,”
Let Israel now say—
“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us,
Then they would have swallowed us alive,
When their wrath was kindled against us;
Then the waters would have overwhelmed us,
The stream would have gone over our soul;
Then the swollen waters
Would have gone over our soul.”
Blessed be the Lord,
Who has not given us as prey to their teeth.
Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers;
The snare is broken, and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth. -Psalm 124
